BLOG 4: Time Travel to the Future

Forward, always forward. In middle school, we had to read some books that were categorized as "classics." I don't really know if 'Marianela' is one of them, but at that moment, I really enjoyed it. For those who have never read this novel, I'm going to summarize it: Marianela is an orphaned girl who was 'adopted' by a well-off family. In that house, she takes on the responsibility of keeping the son of that family safe. Why? He is blind. So she takes him on trips in the meadow and describes the world to him with words. Both of them fall in love. Partly because he feels grateful to Marianela for being his eyes. On the other hand, she has never been treated well because she is very ugly. Well, this story doesn't have a happy ending. A doctor arrives in the town and cures the son's eyes. He sees that Marianela is ugly, and he rejects her. Then, he marries his cousin! A big dream, to become a Chef First, I would like to introduce you to the mental image that I have about food. I always enjoy food. Do not misunderstand me; I don't only talk about eating (though enjoying delicious dishes is also good); I also take pleasure in other factors, like the scent, the appearance, and the aesthetics. And I want you to pause at this term: aesthetics. This word has a strong presence in recent years (especially in other areas like clothing and lifestyle), but when I talk about food, it takes on another meaning for me. I imagine an experienced chef cooking amazing dishes with a lot of skill. For me, that is a spectacular show to watch. So, yes, my dream job was to be a chef and make people happy with the food I cook. The question is: If your dream was to become a chef, why are you studying dentistry? Well...
